Location: Your primary base will be Leicester General Hospital; however, travel between UHL’s hospital sites will be required. This role will primarily be based at LHC main office. Flexible working flexible working patterns can be negotiated.

About the role
As a key member of the Fundraising Team, the Fundraising Data Insights Manager will be expected to:
- Be responsible for the overall management of the CRM system and as part of the Supporter Care Team, lead colleagues in the collection, storage, and updating of charity constituent information and the development of data collection processes.
- Ensure that Charity policy regarding Data Protection, Code of Conduct and Information Governance is adhered to.
- Be the first point of contact for colleagues in the retrieval and analysis of donor data from a variety of data sources in order to create systems that enhance donor cultivation and stewardship ensuring that our donors are thanked promptly, feel valued and inspired to give again.
- Lead on data analysis to support and critique campaigns ensuring that they are data driven, timely and cost effective.
- Lead on compiling quarterly data audits to report on data management, accuracy, data quality and insights to inform future direction.
- Lead on the proposed replacement of the current database ensuring that any replacement is fit for future needs and is cost effective.
- Work closely with the Marketing Officer to ensure charity campaigns are buit on robust data analysis.
- Lead on the reasearch and implementation of a new CRM system for the Charity.
Budget:
- Monitor the ongoing costs of the CRM database and online giving platforms, and ensure best value for money for the Charity.
- Propose investment options and project management for budget relating to future CRM change.
Staff:
- Provide information and database training to other members of the Charity team. This would include regular refresher training and training for new starters.
Policy:
- Ensure all fundraising activities are conducted appropriately and within the law; to follow accepted codes of practice as set out by the Institute of Fundraising and Charity Commission.
- Maintain and develop strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, including the Charities Act, GDPR and Data Protection.
Communications:
- Communicate complex and sensitive analytical and statistical information within the Charity team to contribute to the smooth running of the fundraising operations.
- Communicate with other areas of UHL and externals agencies.
- Be the first point of contact for complaints or incidents involving the database and data breeches and will ensure that this is appropriately reported in a timely manner. Keeping accurate logs for auditing purposes.
Role responsibilities
Data Imports, Development, Selections and Extracts
- Manage the process of uploading timely and accurate data, so that all supporter transactions, preferences, contact details and other data are continually updated and always accurate.
- Continually assess the data needs of the Charity team and work to identify improvements to processes that exploit opportunities for simplification and automation, reducing the need for manual intervention as much as possible.
- As part of the Supporter Engagement Team lead on the implementation and ad hoc updating of database records as required.
- Working with fundraising colleagues manage the process of selections and extracts in support of all fundraising activity. This includes agreeing the data brief with colleagues, providing data counts, providing data file for validation (including data coding), output and upload of communications histories on to database.
- Receive and interpret data extract briefs from team colleagues managing appeals. Ensuring that:
- Team members receive the quantity of data expected, output in the format they and their suppliers need and transferred as agreed.
- The work is delivered to a high level of accuracy.
- There is clear communication back to team members to minimise problems and maximise opportunities in data selection.
- Ensure that there is a systematic and planned approach to managing every selection and extract and advise fundraising colleagues on how their selections could be improved or changed.
- Adhere to and implements Charity Policies and Procedures including Data Protection Act and GDPR.
Data analysis and Integrity
- Proactively work with the wider charity team to create, modify and run agreed weekly/monthly reports providing insight from the databases about the success of their activity and suggest improvements.
- Run ad hoc analysis reports as requested by colleagues, and advise where further reporting and analysis could add value.
- Run statistical analysis of data sets to further understand target fundraising audiences.
- Develop robust processes that drive improvements in data integrity ensuring improved reliability of the data held on the database.
- Help drive improvements in the accuracy and cleanliness of data held. This includes monitoring the data entered by other users.
Planning & Organisation
- Will be expected to plan own ongoing work and adjust plans according to requirements for deadlines.
- Ensure that all requests for information – both ad hoc and routine are undertaken in a timely manner.
- Clarify information needs, timescales, and content and agree format of information requested.
- Contribute to policy development the Charity CRM and other data collection platforms.
- Validate data entered by other team members and report any data quality issues (making recommendations on how to resolve them where appropriate).
- Undertake analyses involving data that has several components (e.g. administrative, demographic and financial), from a number of sources and systems.
General Duties
- Adhere at all times to the Trust and Charity’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of the charity’s resources.
