Overview
Oxford Hospitals Charity is looking for a talented and creative fundraiser to lead on growing income from individuals. You will join a wider Fundraising team of eight people and play a key role in recruiting new supporters to grow our existing donor base, developing exciting fundraising products and inspiring our loyal supporters to continue giving.
You will use your experience to help the charity maximise our fundraising by designing engaging and intentional multi-channel donor journeys. You will lead on making donor specific fundraising asks and delivering exemplary donor care to maximise lifetime value. You will work with colleagues to analyse past performance and trends to identify new opportunities and make data driven decisions to maximise donor engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver the individual giving operational plan, project managing all areas of activity and working to agreed budgets and targets.
- Generate and convert new donor prospects in line with agreed annual targets.
- Maximise opportunities to increase income and deepen relationships with our supporters through the creation of meaningful and effective donor journeys.
- Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of events and communication with donors.
- Ensure compliance with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice and all relevant legislation (including data, privacy, consent, gift aid etc).
Campaigns and Appeals
- Deliver our multichannel fundraising campaigns from concept to completion, including direct mail and e-appeals, ensuring that integrated messaging flows through all channels.
- Support the Head of People and Special Projects and the Head of Fundraising in the operations and delivery of the charity lottery.
- Work with the Data & Insight Officer to ensure strategic choices are evidence based and data driven. Segmenting and targeting all activities to maximise and develop existing support as well as acquire new donors and convert non-financial supporters.
- Explore and test new activities to widen the pool of donors.
Donor acquisition and onward journeys
- Oversee all IG donor journeys, working with colleagues in the Supporter Care, Communications and Data teams to continuously improve them; maximising engagement and giving, particularly cross-sell and conversion to other giving products.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications team to produce and distribute donor communications, such as the biannual supporter newsletter, monthly e-newsletters and biannual impact reports.
- Devise and implement a regular giving proposition to acquire and retain committed donors.
- Work with the Major Giving Officer to ensure that donor journeys are seamless as donors progress though the giving pyramid.
Person specification includes
Experience
- Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering an individual giving programme of activity (essential).
- Experience of using databases to maintain accurate supporter records and run reports to monitor activity and income (essential).
- Experience of delivering fundraising campaigns and appeals from start to finish. Including planning, set up, delivery and evaluation (essential).
- Experience of using Raisers Edge NXT (desirable).
- Experience of digital marketing platforms, i.e., DotDigital (desirable).
- Experience organising events (desirable).
Knowledge, skills and abilities (essential)
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising regulations and compliance, including data protection, privacy and security, GDPR, the Code of Practice.
- Excellent working knowledge of Gift Aid.
